Stone Smiths Slash Review:
Stonesmiths’ is a Canadian based vaporizer manufacturer. Officially founded in 2013 they have come a long way in the industry. Their current main focus is their premier product: The Slash. The Stonesmiths’ Slash has a height of 5" (127 mm), width of 1" (25.4 mm), and weighs 3 oz (85 g). The Slash is easily one of the most lightweight, portable, and overall handheld dab pens available. The battery is not the largest, when compared to high end devices, coming in at 1000 mAh. You can expect to get 9–12 sessions per charge, but don’t worry as it has USB-C fast charging. There is 3 available heat settings for The Slash. You can set the temperature low to bring out the flavor profile of the concentrate, high to create huge clouds, or medium for a nice mid-point. It also has a simple, sleek, and full metal design. Adding to this simplicity is the single button operation. Everything is controlled by a single button, 5 taps to power on/off, 3 taps to switch temperatures, and hold to get lit! Don’t let the simplicity on the outside distract you from the sexy on the inside! The air paths within the device the smoke travels through are completely isolated. This means none of the vapor you inhale is leaking or going through the electronics before you get it. The mouthpiece is magnetic with a built in dab tool that allows you to easily load the ceramic chamber. Another perk from the mouthpiece is its sloped design that allows you to dab without doing the ‘crane neck’. The air intake holes near the top of the device pull in air and mimic the functionality of a carb cap.

Smokeski Review:
Smokeski is the new kid on the block that has been making a lot of waves. Now I know what you’re thinking: “but Mr. Smoke Tech writer that isn’t a pen.” You would be correct and very observant! This one made it so high on our list since it is a concentrate vaporizer and anything that matches its performance and specs is just as bulky. This device is one of the most portable electric dab rigs. The Smokeski has a height of 7" (177.8 mm), width of 3.5" (88.9 mm), and weighs 16 oz (453.592 g). They also include a travel case for maximum portability. The battery in this is huge and will last you 30–40 sessions. Competing devices that can match the 3000 mAh battery typically have a 2x price tag attached. If you manage to burn through the charge you don’t have to worry since it also has USB-C fast charging. One of our key takeaways was the extreme value provided with this rig. They include a lot in the box including a titanium bucket and a silicon carbide bucket. If you weren’t aware silicon carbide, also known as “SiC”, is one of the best commercially available dabbing surfaces. It is up to 80x more conductive than quartz, chemically inert, non-toxic, and thermal shock resistant. We found beauty in the devices simplicity and effectiveness and simplicity. The Smokeski has a single button operation similar to the slash. You can press 5 times to power on/off, 2 times to start a sesh, and 3 times to switch temperatures. Their are four different heat settings to choose from to find your perfect temperature for each bucket.

OOZE Duplex Review:
Ooze is a Michigan based vaporizer manufacturer and distributor founded in 2007. Their main focus has been to put out cutting edge vaporizer pens that last longer and burn longer than the competition. Ooze’s Duplex showed they are true to their word. The Duplex is critically acclaimed and has been ranked as the best vaporizer at the top of numerous lists. The Duplex won High Times best vaporizer at Cannabis Cup Michigan. It also was ranked #1 as Smokecartel’s Best Mini Vape for thin oils and dabs. The battery on the Duplex is 1000 mAh, that isn’t bad, but it also isn’t great. The battery on the Duplex beats 99% of other devices in its price range. You do get pretty amazing value out of this thing considering it will only run you $60. The Duplex is compatible with 510 threaded cartridges and also has a ceramic tank for dabbing. Both have a magnetic connection to stay secure on the device. You will also find this is one of the most ultra-portable wax pens available. The OOZE Duplex has a height of 4.5" (114.3 mm), width of 1" (25.4 mm), and weighs 7.2 oz (204 g). The clouds the device provides are pretty good, but the flavor isn’t the best. With all that said that is my only complaint and isn’t the biggest deal for a budget wax pen. It outperforms any dab pen in its price range and gets the job done.

Dip Devices EVRI Review:
Dip Devices, the company that is always defining better. Their beliefs are simple, devices can, and should always be better in every way. The company launched in early 2014 with that goal in mind. To innovate and create better ways to consume concentrates. They did exactly that with the EVRI device, making it to number 4 on our list. This concentrate vaporizer is a very unique one that utilizes magnets to make a very aesthetically pleasing use case. The quality of the magnet sticks out to me, making the EVRI feel special and also allows for multi-functional consumption. This device allows you to use 510 cartridges of all kinds, prefilled pods, and normal wax. It doesn’t stop there however, you can use pods like mentioned, but you can also use it as an torch-less dab straw which is epic. The battery on this device is decent coming in at 925 mAh. Being such a small and portable device, this is a good sized battery. The adjustable temperature control on the EVRI is well made as well. They utilize each setting to have the perfect range of temperatures in a dab pen. One final thing about the company is that they donate 1% of each sale to different charities and social problems based on devices sold. All in all, this is a great device that provides premium vapor quality, decent airflow, and great flavor. Being only $69.99, this device is a solid value package.

Pax was formed in San Francisco of June 2017 coming as a spin off to JUUL Labs. JUUL Labs was originally known as Pax Labs and during a rebranding in 2017 the current Pax Labs poached the name from JUUL Labs. They wanted to make a device that was simple to use for cannabis and concentrates, but not a cheap device. They quickly ran through a few renditions before arriving at the Pax 3 which is a masterpiece. The battery is massive compared to the size of the device coming in at 3500 mAh. That is an improvement of 17% from the Pax 2. The Pax 3 is also one of the best affordable, high performance, and dual use “pens” available. Most others with the same battery life that can deliver the same quality of vapor from dry herb and concentrates have an enormous price tag. It also beats the stereotype of the high end vaporizers being bulky monstrosities. The Pax 3 has a height of 3.87" (98.29 mm), width of 1.21" (30.73 mm), depth of 0.85" (21.59 mm), and weighs 3.2 oz (93g). The device also has the optimal temperature range for smoking bud and low temp concentrate dabs. Did we mention the temperature is able to be precision controlled via bluetooth app? This device is by far the best option for an affordable high end vaporizer than can smoke both concentrates and loose leaf material.

DaVinci IQ2 Review:
DaVinci Vaporizers, inspired by and named after the Renaissance Innovator Leonardo da Vinci. The company itself is known for their great innovations which lead us to the DaVinci IQ2. This device sits at $295 retail price, making it one of the more expensive hand held concentrate vaporizers. The IQ2 doesn’t stop there, it also allows you to vaporize flower which is awesome to have on a vaping device. The device is built using medical-grade parts, it’s heavy duty and shouldn’t break on you. The IQ2 is built with purity in mind meaning no plastic or metals are touching what you consume which allows for pure consumption. Have I mentioned that you can adjust the airflow on the IQ2 allowing for bigger and more dense vapor? It’s a nice feature, and makes overall quality of airflow a solid 8/10. Along with that, the IQ2 offers a temperature control that displays the temp of the device on an LED display. One of the main reasons this device is priced so high is that it has an In-App device dosage calculation. You can track and see how much product you are consuming, which some people may like, personally I don’t really care. The battery on the IQ2 is 3500 mAh, that’s a super large battery. The only downside to this battery is that it takes around a full minute to heat up while other devices take a couple of seconds. Oh and one more thing, it takes 6 hours to charge the IQ2 to full on their chargers. With all of that, the device is really portable. You can travel with the IQ2 and use it on the fly basically anywhere. The DaVinci IQ2 has a height of 3.61" (91.69 mm), width of 1.75" (44.45 mm), depth of 0.97" (24.63 mm), and weighs 5.6 oz (158 g). Making it your traveling companion.

Yocan Evolve Plus Review:
Yocan Vaporizers is a company based out of Shenzhen, China. When creating this company, their goal was to create affordable and high quality concentrate vaporizers. While their devices are all pretty affordable, they’re not top of line technology or hardware. They are pretty decent however, especially the Yocan Evolve which happens to be the top selling product this company offers. This device isn’t aiming for the “wow factor” with it’s cosmetics and shape, rather it’s looking to be sleek and Discreet. The Evolve is $49.99 and has a decently sized 1100 mAh battery. The battery also offers instant heat up times, so you can take dabs without waiting for heat up. The downsides of this however is that there’s only one heat setting, and it takes 3 plus hours to charge the device to full when the battery is drained. The chamber on this device is large allowing for you to stuff it full of your favorite concentrate and vape away for quite a while. Considering that the Evolve offers a dual quartz coil atomizer, the vapor quality is very nice and milky while retaining a really nice flavor. One of the final things to cover about the Yocan Evolve is that it comes with a built in oil container inside of the device which makes this device very convenient in a lot of ways including it’s portability. The Yocan Evolve Plus has a height of 4.4" (111.76 mm), width of 0.75" (19.05 mm), and weighs 7.2 oz (204 g). You can travel and take this device anywhere you go.

KandyPens Crystal Review:
Kandypens isn’t new to the game by any means. Established in 2014 they quickly came to dominate in the vaporizer industry. Since their founding they have only produced 14 products. That is the most important indicator that shows they are only producing high quality products. Kandy Pen’s Crystal is no exception to that statement. The body is made entirely out of stainless steel and has a medical grade electroplating. The Kandypens Crystal has a height of 4" (101.6 mm), width of 1.3" (33 mm), and weighs 16 oz (453 g). This makes it one of the more portable concentrate vaporizers. One of the main features of the Crystal is ‘Variable Voltage’. This allows you to change between four different heat settings to find your preferred temperature. However not all that glitters is gold, the Crystal does have its downsides. For example the glass tipped mouthpiece is attached to the quartz bowl that gets heated. This causes the glass mouthpiece to get extremely hot after use. Next is the battery capacity, on a full charge you can expect to get around 10 sessions. When dead it will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach a full charge. Their is still hope though since it does have pass through charging which allows you to use the device while charging. The Crystal does manage to make up for some of these oversights with its performance and airflow. It has top-fed airflow that is completely adjustable and allows for efficient air intake. Pair this with their quick heat up time and you can get smooth, clean, and huge draws.

Yocan Magneto Review:
The Yocan Magneto is very similar to the Yocan Evolve. Both electric dab pens have the same specs, hardware, and design. However, there is a small difference with this one. It utilizes a magnetic piece in the device to allow for aesthetically pleasing switching of pods. They snap in and out easily, and it’s hard for the pods to fall out. This device like stated on the Evolve is a great budget dab pen. It has a decently sized battery with only a single heating setting. It’s small, discreet, sleek, and every portable. If you’re someone that's on a budget, and want something basic that works and does the job, I would recommend this to you. You’re getting what you pay for, and it’s not that bad of a deal. If you have a couple extra dollars to spend, it is worth checking out some of the other options higher up on our top list.

Puffco Plus V2 Review:
Puffco, one of the titans in the vaping industry started back in 2013 and haven’t stopped innovating and improving their products since. This company is known for creating revolutionary vaporizing devices with decent tech. This leads us to the Puffco Plus V2, which wasn’t their first mini pocket dab rig. It’s new and improved from their earlier dab pen; the Puffco Plus V1. This new device has improved a lot from the first version. Introducing a higher 520 mAh battery, which is only 15% larger than their first version. This is one of the main reasons the Plus V2 is so low on our list. The battery size is tiny, and really unacceptable in today’s market. One thing to balance this out however is that it takes only 35 minutes to fully charge the device, which leads to a bit less down time. One thing however that I really like about this device is that it’s a coil-less device which makes for higher quality vapor and flavor when vaping concentrates. To add to this, the 3 heat settings offered on this device are great presets ranging from green being 580°F to the white setting being 720°F. The Plus V2 is also one of the most durable devices you can buy. It’s compact and heavy-duty, making it perfectly portable for all of your traveling needs.

Storz & Bickel are the true OG’s on the block. Markus Storz started making the original herbal vaporizers in 1996. He created the original Volcano 2000 which quickly became the gold standard. Storz & Bickel was founded in 2002 after Jürgen Bickel joined Markus Storz and became a partner. They have been releasing exceptional products for decades and all of their vaporizers are certified medical grade devices. The Mighty is their premiere handheld product that can consume both concentrates and loose leaf material alike. Released in 2015 it has mostly held up to the test of time. Their was a slight redesign in 2018 bringing us to the ‘V2' of the device. Version 2 has a 20% larger battery, and an added ‘boost mode’ that bumps the devices heat up temporarily without affecting saved pre-sets. The Mighty is one of the bulkier handheld concentrate vaporizers. The Storz & Bickel Mighty has a height of 5.5" (139.7 mm), width of 3.2" (81.28 mm), depth of 1.2" (30.48 mm), and weighs 8.289 oz (235 g). This makes the Mighty the largest ‘portable’ vaporizers on the list. The battery on the Mighty is definitely the MIGHTIEST we’ve seen on one of these devices with two batteries totaling ~5300 mAh. The reason why it didn’t make the list is because it is quite pricey. It also doesn’t work as well with wax/dabbing compared to its dry herb vaporizing capabilities. The wax mode has to be loaded onto sponge pads that are then loaded into the bowl which can also be quite tedious.
